Jill was a real history enthusiast and a fount of local knowledge. She helped Tim and I find old documents relating to our cottage in The Christopher Tower Library where she helped out and she enthusiastically joined in the history group’s amateur ‘Time Team’ efforts to locate the remains of the village poor house in the field next to Ivy Farm Cottage. Her book on the history of the old village shop is a legacy that will endure. Above all, she was a lovely person to be around - a great listener who always had an aura of tranquillity about her.
