Gareth and I first met Jill through her husband, Tim, way back in 1972 in Ottawa, where they were living at the time. Tim was Gareth's 1st boss at StatsCan in Ottawa, when Gareth joined it in the spring of that year. Tim & Jill were among the first couples who invited us for dinner, which we really appreciated as then newcomers to Ottawa. Jill became a warm and caring friend soon after, which continued after she & Tim moved back to the UK in 1974. We kept in touch with them down through the years, visiting them in the UK on occasion, and are very saddened by Jill's sudden passing.
