Tribute from Kate Tyrell

Created by Sarah 3 years ago

We always had fun as a group, known as "the flower ladies", doing the church flowers together for Christmas, Harvest and Easter and I also helped Jill to do the church flowers for her daughter Sarah's wedding in August 2019.

Jill was very interested in the History lectures at the village hall and we had fun trying to identify different people in lots of the old village fete and pantomime photographs for the History day at the Village Hall.

I remember one day, sharing hot chocolate and cake with Jill and her two little grandsons. She had brought them to swim in our pool on a day when Pete had decided to clean the pool and had put in quite a bit of cold water, so the temperature had dropped quite a bit. Jill and I thought we should go in with the boys, and we got quite chilly - tho' the boys didn't seem to notice!

Pete and I always enjoyed trips to Harbour Lights with Tim and Jill to see some of the live screening operas from the Met.

But the main thing I can think about Jill is that she was just one of the loveliest, kindest friends I have ever known and I shall miss her so much.
